(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 28 - Italy's privacy authority on Monday
fined Vodafone Italia 500,000 euros for giving confusing
information in the quest for new customers, especially elderly
ones.
The fine stemmed from a complaint filed by octogenarian woman
after she changed operator and switched to Vodafone without
wanting to after a contact with a call centre.
In addition to the fine, Vodafone was told to stop making
unwanted sales contacts and giving confusing information to get
people to change contracts and to control the call centres it
uses more carefully. (ANSA).
