(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 31 - Alfredo Cospito's lawyer said Tuesday
the jailed anarchist leader, whose health is deteriorating after
over 100 days of hunger strike against his tough prison regime,
now wants to stop taking food supplements.
"Today Alfredo Cospito was seen by a trial deputy I appointed,
who found him worn out and learned that he had decided to stop
the supplements. This decision worries me, I hope to make him
rethink", said Flavio Rossi Albertini, Alfredo Cospito's lawyer,
a short while ago on Rai Radio1 during the programme 'Menabò'.
Stopping vitamin and mineral supplements would furtjer
compromise Cospito's already precarious state of health, for
which he has been moved to a medical facility in Milan from his
former prison on Sardinia.
Italian and foreign anarchists have staged a wave of attacks in
support of Cospito's fight against the 41 bis regime normally
only reserved for mafia inmates. (ANSA).
